Angelena Barbre, 47 of Church Hill, MD, entered a guilty plea to Embezzlement in the Queen Anne’s County Circuit Court on November 3, 2015.

Barbre was the former office manager of Annapolis Boat Sales, located in Chester, Maryland.  In the early part of 2015 the owner of Annapolis Boat Sales, Walter George, discovered that funds were being stolen from his business.  A joint investigation between the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office and the State’s Attorney’s Office discovered that Barbre had been stealing monies from the business for a period of 2 years.  Evidence was gathered to prove that Barbre had stolen in excess of $54,000 from the business.

On December 4, 2015 Barbre was sentenced in the Queen Anne’s County Circuit Court to 5 years in prison.  The Court suspended all but 4 months of the sentence, which Barbre will serve at the Queen Anne’s County Detention Center.  Upon her release from jail, Barbre will be on 36 months of supervised probation.

Lance Richardson, State’s Attorney, prosecuted this case.
