On January 19, 2018, in the Queen Anne’s County Circuit Court, Matthew Anthony Herold entered a plea of guilty to Conspiracy to Distribute Child Pornography. This plea stems from an investigation conducted by Tfc. Sarver of the Maryland State Police into an incident that occurred on or about February 22, 2017. Mr. Herold was sentenced to five years, execution of that sentence suspended as to all but 124 days served.  He will be on supervised probation for five years to be supervised by the Sex Offender Management Program through the Department of Parole and Probation. Due to his conviction, Mr. Herold is required to register as a Tier II Sex Offender.

Mr. Herold was represented by P. Marshall Long, a panel attorney for the Office of the Public Defender. The matter was prosecuted by Christine Dulla Rickard, Deputy State’s Attorney.  Judge Thomas G. Ross presided over the matter.
